“Device”
/"Source Device" also called a
“Component”
A device, or component, refers to a piece of equipment OTHER
THAN the television set.
The term “component” comes from the idea that the product
is just one component, or part, of your entertainment system. On
some remotes, and in some instructions or reference guides they
are called a “device”. (TVs and home theater receivers
are often included in the term "device")
There are Video COMPONENTS that ultimately hook up and display on
your TV. There are audio COMPONENTS that hook up to your receiver
for sound or music.
